Cheese Dip in a Pumpkin

Ingredients:
1 small sugar pumpkin
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
6-8 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated
2-4 ounces Mozzarella, grated
4 slices crusty white bread torn into large, coarse pieces
1 pint heavy cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Hollow out a sugar pumpkin (save the lid), and rub the interior with oil and garlic.
In a small bowl, mix grated cheeses together. Create a layer of bread along the bottom of the pumpkin, then top with a layer of cheese. Continue layering until the pumpkin is filled (do not stuff--the dip should have a fondue-like consistency).
In a small bowl, mix the cream with salt, pepper and nutmeg, and pour into pumpkin over bread and cheese.
Place pumpkin on a baking sheet and replace top. Bake at 350 for 2 hours. Serve hot with with crusty bread, bagel or pita crackers.
